Kristin Steira: Not an NCP Reader

Kristin! You had it! You put down the best sprint of your life, and were just about to lift the curse of 3 fourth places! But you didn't read our article on how to ski throw!

Don't worry, we still love you, but all this could have been avoided.

Prediction: Steira will finally get an Olympic medal in the 30k classic next Saturday, especially if it comes down to a ski throw.

I've been thinking about this all day. The women's pursuit was one of the most beautiful races I've ever seen, and in some ways it's fitting that Steira wound up with another wooden medal, her fourth at the Olympics and - including two at Worlds and eight in the regular World Cup -
her fourteenth overall.

I agree: she is going to be revved up to kill it in the 30 next weekend.

Langrenn reports that the Norwegians may protest the results of the pursuit on the grounds that Kowalcyzk skated too early on the way into the transition zone. I think this would be a stupid protest to make. A few strides of skating at the halfway point hardly affected the final sprint, 7,500 meters later. It would be a shameful way to get another Norwegian medal.

I get your point Chris but Skofterud was disqualified for doing the same thing as Kowalcyzk did.
So how come it`s fair for Norwegians to get disqualified and not others ?

The rules can`t apply just some of the time or just to some country`s

Personally i`m tierd of things just not working out for us in these Olympics.
First the wax teck fuck up there job in the 15k.
Then 2 out of 3 of the Norwegian men get there chances in the sprint final destroyed by having a much shorter break then 2 Russians and the third falls on his ass.

And now this happens to Steira.

I want to see some actual numbers regarding the Russians' long break between their semi and the final before I say that that was the decisive factor. And with regards to Vibeke's DSQ in the Tour de Ski, she'd skated in a classic-only race, not snuck in a few skates before the exchange zone in a pursuit. Granted, rules should be applied uniformly, but on the other hand, it's sport, and they're not.

I'll bet your feeling a lot better today, after Petter took his first Oly gold!
